🔎 What is really in the folder
Looking changes nothing — not your maps, not the folder, not your backup settings — so you can compare several folders freely. The one thing that writes is ＋ Add files, and only when you ask: drop pictures straight into a brand folder inside “Images”.

🔗 Send as one file
A single .html holds the map and the app. Whoever gets it double-clicks and the map
opens — zoom, fold, search, present — offline, with no account and nothing to install.
It is stored nowhere and never leaves this machine, so we cannot recover it
for you. Send it to your recipient through another channel than the file itself.

Clicking its badge will open that map — from a node, a shape or a sticky. The link travels
in the file: on a machine without the map, the badge says so instead of failing silently.

Brand kit — save once, use always
The look of a map itself — font, skin, palette, background — lives in ✒️ Style, because it travels with each document.
TabTree works fully without AI. To enable 🤖 Copilot, 🤖 Organize and
✨ Expand, paste your Claude API key — a personal access code that lets TabTree
talk to Claude under your own account (created in a minute on Anthropic's site,
billed to you per use, no subscription). It is stored on this device
(the browser's local storage), is sent only to api.anthropic.com, and is
never included in a .tabtree, .json or .md export.

The app itself never asks for a key — it is yours for life, offline. The key unlocks the
hosted services: publishing to a tabtree.app link, and the AI credits included with
your licence. It is a receipt, not a lock — and whoever you give it to spends
your credits and quota.
The 🛟 folder is the safety net: one file per map, on your disk, readable forever.
Put it in iCloud / Dropbox / Google Drive and it becomes your team's shared library —
and the home of your brand pictures.
🖼 Generate an image
Describe the image you want. It is produced by Google Gemini and
downscaled before being stored (like every image in TabTree).
Nothing is added to the map until you click “Insert”.
✨ Start from a template
Every preview is rendered by the app's own engine — this is exactly what you will get.
Fill this in and the AI rewrites the template's labels for your context
right after it opens (⌘Z undoes it all at once). Leave empty for the plain template.

🔒 Data processing statement
A one-page document you can attach to a proposal or a tender, stating where
TabTree keeps your client's data. Every line is verifiable — your client can open the
browser's Network tab and check.

Designed for desktop — editing is built for a keyboard and a big screen. On a phone, TabTree installs as an app: open tabtree.app/me (your licence key signs you in), then “Add to Home Screen”. Maps travel as files: keep your 🛟 folder on iCloud or Drive, 📂 open a map from it here, and save it back into the same folder — your desktop picks it up as the same map.
